The two state leaders are expected to tackle new cooperation
in the areas of maritime, mining, railways, and law enforcement
and discuss ways to expand bilateral trade during their meeting
in the Palace. A separate expanded bilateral meeting will fo-
llow.
Mrs. Arroyo and Belka will also witness the signing of an
agreement for the establishment of political consultations bet-
ween the foeign affairs departments of the two countries and a-
nother agreement on the South Railway Rehabilitation Project.
The Prime Minister will later lay wreath at the Dr. Jose Ri-
zal monument at the Luneta Park where he will also be presented
the key to the City of Manila by Mayor Jose "Lito" Atienza.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will visit the Asian Develop-
ment Bank (ADP) and hold meetings with Senate President Frank-
lin Drilon and House Speaker Jose de Venecia at the Manila Ho-
tel.
He will also meet with representatives of the Polish Society
of the Philippines and deliver a speech at a business luncheon
hosted by Poland's Honorary Consul in Manila, Fernando Lising,
International Container Terminal Services, Inc.(ITCSI) Chairman
Enrique Razon and the City of Manila at the Manila Hotel.
The Polish delegation is also scheduled to be given a tour
of the San Agustin Church, National Museum and Fort Santiago
before departing late Thursday afternoon.
In 2004, Poland ranked as the Philippines' 55th trading
partner with a total trade of $14.75 million. Balance of trade
has always been in favor of the Philippines, reaching $10 mil-
lion in 2004.
